Moving Forward
Moving home has been an inescapable stress factor for me and maybe for you too.
A sudden reason and decision to move happened over just two weeks and things looked worse to start with.
My old thinking patterns came up immediately to try to “help”:
1. Had I made a right decision to pay a higher rent even though the new flat is better?
2. How can I find the right mover at a good price at short notice? (I live on an outlying island)
3. I felt bad about my current landlord. I saw him as being unreasonable and not responsible; he might not give me the 2-months deposit back!
When faced with stress factors like moving, some of us sleep less well and have headaches or tense shoulders, seemingly without reason. (Chapters 1,4,6 of my book offer complete sets of exercises for these symptoms!)
For me, I had something that has not been with me for a decade - 3 oral ulcers at the same time! They gave piercing pain at times and annoyance all day long.
With the face & mouth exercise on P.93 of my book (if you want this exercise free, please leave me your email address), and the relaxation below, my pain eased in a few minutes and the swelling went down in 2 days, without any medication. This exercise is also good if you have facial tension (those who always look fierce even when they are not dealing with other people), and those who have jaw and neck tension.
Relaxation for the mouth:
1. Relax yourself in any position, standing, sitting or lying down are all good. Close your eyes if possible
2. Inhale, feel the cool air, feel it at your temples, down towards your sphenoid/cheek bones/sinus
3. Exhale, feel the warm air soothe the deep tissue underneath your cheek bones, your gums and the sides of your inner mouth.
4. Do it long enough to feel the amount of saliva in your mouth increase and the taste of it change
5. Feel how having a relaxed face and mouth soothingly affects your whole being
6. Repeat this whenever the pain and swelling come back before you have completely healed
Pages 32-33 of my book give the mental exercise that can help to change the root cause of physical issues you may get from significant stress. (if you want this exercise free, please leave me your email address)
With both the mental and physical exercises above, I successfully got rid of old beliefs. With new beliefs, the outcomes are:
1. I made myself believe: My home reflects the love, abundance and value of me. I felt no more struggles and doubt about my moving. I am sure I made a wise decision. I am confident that more than enough extra income will come.
2. I found the right, caring, and adept mover. I instantly remembered a man who had delivered a heavy solid wood wardrobe to my home. His charge for moving my flat came in 2 days and it was 40% lower than other quotes.
3. I created peace and praise in my mind. I let this feeling saturate my body when I thought of my current landlord. When I phoned him, my being and voice were really in peace and joy. Our conversation was filled with appreciation, understanding and giggles.
